“Poissons des grottes” styrocut, handprinted on Manilla.
The art of LIM. LIM stands for “less is more“. From architecture to painting and poetry, it is a movement also known as minimalism.
To me, LIM is getting to the essential, in a few strokes and no coming back. The difficult part being no coming back. Refraining the urge to fiddle more and more, add more shadows, elongate a few lines…restraining that feeling of anxiety that translate into adding more.
l’art du peu: LIM, less is more, ou moins c’est plus.

thank you Gabrielle, yes a good philosophy!
These are lovely in their simplicity – is Manilla a kind of paper?
Manilla is a ocher colour paper quite absorbent and inexpensive. I use it a lot even if it is considered as an exercise paper . Thank you bluebee.
