A new attempt for a self portrait, the double reflection. The set-up is longer, and a little more tricky but the result is different, and it is interesting to be able to draw my own profile. I have already linked to Aletha’s explanation of the double reflection portrait, but she does it much better than me, portrait and explanation.

Encore un auto-portrait mais un peu différent puisque fait avec la double réflection. L’installation est un peu plus longue et délicate mais le résultat est différent et c’est interessant de pouvoir me dessiner de profil. J’ai deja fait référence à l’explication de Aletha sur cette méthode du double miroir mais elle explique et dessine mieux que moi.

I was just reading on “mirror images” the other day. I never thought about double reflection though (drawing it I mean). I remember sitting with my son in front of our mirrored closets, one in front and one behind and looking with him at all the reflections… he loved that. I might give this challenge a try.

Ben, ces dessins sont supers! Et “il faut refraire la meme choses dix fois, cents fois ….” Pas moi! C’est Degas qui le dit.
Chaque fois on decouvre quelque choses de nouveau. Chaque dessin est vraiment different. Et enfin on fait un dessin vraiment inconnu, merveilleux, et fascinant. Ce dessin a gauche est si bel — et c’est presque arrive — un ou deux pas ensuite et tu es la.
Le chien par coeur est emouvant.
J’ai fini plus de 100 pages du roman! (Cinq cents m’attend.) Je comprends tout le scene, mais pas chaque mot.
Bravo apropos ces dessins ambitieux et bravo a moi pour cent pages lu!

I really like the color of the dog too, and the lines totally made it look alive.
Thanks for your comments on Gilwi. I don’t really know much about him, but he’s actually a small horse. And it’s really great to be here in Louisiana ^^ the weather is tab a bit too hot tho!

Degas a raison, il faut faire et refaire. Le portrait de gauche est le 2e.
Je suis contente que tu trouves mon chien émouvant, quand je pense à lui je suis émue…
Bravissimo, pour les plus de 100 pages lues, c’est pas important de comprendre chaque mot, c’est comme les tableaux, c’est pas important de comprendre chaque détail.
